Window accessories - Glazing

High quality glazing for windows and patio doors.

Glazing is a very important part of a window that affects its thermal insulation and soundproofing properties. We offer our customers a wide range of glazing to suit different needs.

Glazing packages

The panes of glass in a window are combined to form a so-called glazing packet. A standard window has a double-glazing package, in which the space between the panes is filled with a noble gas – argon, and one of the panes is a pane with an invisible layer of a combination of noble metals (the so-called low emission coating). The double-glazing package provides basic thermal and sound insulation protection. For those looking for exceptionally energy-efficient solutions, we recommend triple-glazed and quadruple-glazed packages with a warm frame between the panes.

Warm glass edge

Heat loss can occur not only through the glass itself, but also through the thermal properties of the window frame and glazing edge. An aluminium frame is used as standard in windows, but more and more customers are choosing a warm frame. A warm frame is the visible element between the inner pane and the outer pane. It is made of a composite insulating material or stainless steel. The use of a warm frame improves thermal insulation at the edges, which increases the temperature of the glass and reduces the risk of window evaporation. The spacer can come in different colours to perfectly match the colour of the window.

Exterior door glass

Glazed exterior door models from the Budvar range enliven the interior and provide an interesting design. For this product category, we offer Venetian mirror, transparent, matt, laminated, reflective and ornamental glazing.
The combination of glazing with an INOX stainless steel frame for decoration is also interesting. Such an application can be added to both the inside and outside of the entrance door.

Types of glass

Ornamental glass

A glazing package with ornamental glass is a very effective and simple method of securing our privacy. At the same time, it allows light to pass through allowing us to illuminate the room. An additional advantage of ornamental glass is its decorative qualities, which give us the opportunity to select and differentiate the style of our window. Ornamental glass does not impair the thermal insulation of glazing packages, and the light transmittance of clear glass ranges from 80% to 90%, depending on the pattern and thickness.

Other types of glass

Absorption glass

It absorbs part of the sun’s radiant energy and thus protects the room from overheating. Absorption glazing is made from tinted float glass. The light transmission then decreases to between 32 and 72%, depending on the thickness and colour of the glass. In absorption glass, the glass is tinted blue, brown, grey or green.

Reflective glass

The glass is tinted blue, brown, grey and green in the mass or clear. Thanks to the use of metal oxide on the coating, the glazing also has the effect of reflecting the sun’s rays, rather than merely preventing them from passing through. Such glazing means that windows do not heat up as much in summer and do not cause heat to escape to the outside in winter. The advantage of these panes is also a slight darkening – the interior of the flat becomes almost invisible from the outside thanks to these panes.

Sound-absorbing glass

The thicker the glass, the better the soundproofing properties of the whole window. Windows use glass panes of different thicknesses, generally one pane is twice as thick as the other, e.g. one is 4 mm thick and the other 6 mm or 8 mm thick. This ensures that each pane attenuates sounds at different frequencies and the range of noise absorbed increases.

Tempered glass

Resistance to thermal shock. Glass is a brittle material. The toughening process causes internal stresses in the glass structure to change, resulting in an increase in bending strength, making it five times more resistant to impact than ordinary float glass, and breaking into small blunt-edged pieces when broken.

Laminated glass

The glazing consists of two or more panes of glass with layers of highly tear-resistant PVB (polyvinyl butyral) film between them. In the event of a breakage, the glass panes are still bonded to the film. This minimises the risk of injury, but also makes it difficult for third parties to enter the room, providing temporary protection against burglary. In addition, the film increases sound insulation and limits the penetration of UV rays.
