External roller shutters

Roller shutters are an additional window covering system with excellent thermal insulation properties. They make it possible to reduce the expenses connected with heating the house, which makes them ideal for passive and energy-efficient buildings.

Roller shutters and savings

External window Roller shutters fulfil several functions, such as protecting the interior of a dwelling from excessive heat, ensuring a pleasant and optimal temperature even on a hot summer day. In winter, they make it possible to save on heating. As we all know, most heat escapes through windows (up to several percent), and a lowered roller shutter creates additional heat insulation, as a result of which heat remains inside the room.

Burglar-proof external roller shutters

External balcony roller shutters and external terrace roller shutters are also protection against noise and an investment in security. The additional barrier to be overcome by a potential burglar can effectively deter him from taking action. Roller shutters are designed to shield, but not just from the sun’s rays. They protect and hide from the eyes of unwanted people what we would like to keep only to ourselves. Finally, it is also worth mentioning aesthetics. Roller shutters can be an original and modern decoration of the façade. We are only limited by our imagination.

Types of external roller shutters

The decision to purchase Roller shutters should be made as early as possible, preferably already at the stage of designing the house or modernising the building, as this determines the list of possible products to be used. Some types of external roller shutters require appropriate preparation of the window openings, designing the shape of the lintel so that the roller shutter box can be built in and aesthetically concealed under the façade. It is also possible to install external roller shutters in existing buildings.

External overhead roller shutters

Characteristic features of external overhead roller shutters are the construction of the housing, which, unlike the other models, is made of PVC. The roller shutter is mounted on the window frame and placed together with the window in a suitably prepared mounting hole. The decision to purchase specifically this roller shutter can be made in the case of newly constructed buildings or modernised facilities, as it requires the dimensions of the window opening to be increased by the height of the selected box.

Concealed external Roller shutters

This type of roller shutters is dedicated to newly constructed buildings, where the lintels have not yet been poured. The decision to purchase them should be made at the building design stage. The advantage of flush-mounted external Roller shutters is the possibility to incorporate the roller shutter box into the wall (during its construction) in such a way as to eliminate thermal bridges. In addition, the concealed roller shutter box ensures a minimalist building design.

External facade roller shutters

This is the most versatile type of external roller shutters. They can be used in any situation, both in newly constructed buildings and in existing buildings which have been finished for many years. The installation does not require any prior redesign or involvement of an architect. Roller shutters are installed on the wall (in the window recess or directly above it) and can be adapted to any type of window or balcony door.

Roller shutters for external windows

Conventional roller shutters, installed on the facade of the building or in the window embrasure, are the ideal solution for regulating the amount of light entering the interior and ensuring optimum thermal insulation. Thanks to the quality of their materials and workmanship, these blinds protect rooms from excessive sunlight and various atmospheric agents.

The price of external roller shutters can vary depending on the quality of the materials and technological solutions, such as filling with polyurethane foam, which also increases thermal insulation. In any case, each external facade roller shutter offers a number of advantages, including the possibility of electric operation by remote control, which increases ease of use.
The decision to install an external roller shutter can be taken at any time, whatever the construction phase of the building. Their installation makes efficient use of the window opening, while providing protection from the elements and improving the comfort of the premises.

It’s worth noting that external facade roller shutters can be customised thanks to the various options available, both in terms of colour and control mechanisms. The ability to lower roller shutters according to current weather conditions and user preferences makes them an essential accessory for any building.

External blinds

External blinds are window coverings installed on the outside of buildings and are often chosen in modern architectural designs, both in homes and public buildings.

Why choose facade blinds?

Blinds allow the amount of light entering the building to be easily adjusted, giving you the opportunity to tailor the lighting to the needs of the occupants. In addition, they provide privacy, as you can control how much of the interior is visible from the outside. They also help to maintain a comfortable temperature – they retain heat in winter and protect against overheating in summer. Their modern appearance adds to the building’s appeal and the variety of colours allows them to match the style of the building. Thanks to the wide range of options available, they can be installed in a variety of building types by choosing the appropriate installation method.

Available lamella types for external blinds

  • C-shaped laths with rolled-up edges
  • width 80 mm
  • possibility to close the blinds to the inside of the room
  • 86% blackout
  • SLIM variant as standard (low package)
  • DUO option (blackout)
  • Z-shaped laths
  • width 90 mm
  • blinds can be opened and closed by 90°
  • 98% blackout
  • rubber moulded along the entire length of the aluminium slat reduces the intensity of outside noise and increases the thermoregulatory effect of the louvre, eliminates louvre vibrations and is therefore quieter in the wind

Trimming methods

For external blinds, we use both steel and PVC plastic lamella guidelines (so-called pins).

• The steel runners are protected by a layer of zinc without the possibility of subsequent painting.
• PCV plastic runners are available in several colours.

Control of external blinds

As standard, all blinds are equipped with a modern electric drive, which allows precise control of their position. This allows the user to easily adjust the angle of the louvres, regulating the amount of light entering the room as well as the level of privacy.

Control is via a dedicated remote control, wall panel or mobile app, providing maximum comfort and convenience. In addition, motorised blinds can be integrated into a smart home system, allowing them to be automated depending on the time of day or weather conditions.
